The act, written by Assembly member Kalra, “provides equal opportunity to pursue justice for those who have already been harmed by the racial bias and discrimination that permeates our criminal legal system.” You can also visit the ACLU’s California #TakeAction page for more ways to support civil liberties and rights, equality and the fight to dismantle the systems still rooted in discrimination.
